#1 Eagles Take Down Southeastern on the Road

Kirkwood wasted litlle time getting their offense going, as they scored right off the opening tip & never looked back in a 101-26 victory over Southeastern Saturday afternoon in Keokuk.

The Eagles (8-0 /1-0) were ahead 12-0 before Southeastern scored 3:35 into the game.
 
Freshman Jenna Twedt led the early offensive output as she scored 14 points, including four three pointers, in the opening quarter to give Kirkwood a 29-14 lead.
 
Kirkwood continued forcing turnovers in the second quarter, which led to a commanding 54-18 lead at halftime.
 
The Eagles would hold Southeastern scoreless for a 9:31 stretch in the second half as they outscored them 47-8 after halftime.
 
Twedt led the Eagles with a game high 20 points, while sophomore Emily Dreckman added 17 points & a game high 6 rebounds.
 
Sophomore Kaylee Corbin also finished in double figures with 12 points.
 
As a team, Kirkwood shot 14-28 (50.0%) from three point range.
 
The Eagles return home on Wednesday, as they host Southwestern at 5:30 pm in Johnson Hall.
