KCC MEN BELT IOWA WESLEYAN JV
Justin Recker scored 21 points Tuesday night as the Kirkwood men's basketball team defeated the Iowa Wesleyan junior varsity, 95-45, in the season opener at Johnson Hall.
Noah King, Cassius Brooks and Ayouba Berthe scored 14 points apiece for the Eagles. Arthur Cox chipped in with 11 markers.
Kirkwood shot 54.4 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent on 3-pointers. Recker was 8-for-10 and Brooks went 7-for-9. The Eagles dominated the backboards, 44-23.
Recker, King, Brooks and Cox are returning players. Berthe, a freshman, finished with a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
