Kirkwood won one and lost one last week -- beating No. 14 Ellsworth at home 77-73 in a hard-fought win, and narrowly falling to NIACC 78-73 on the road. In the win, Justin Recker came up huge for the Eagles. The sophomore forward poured in 26 points (matching a season-high), including drilling a three with 19 seconds left to put Kirkwood up five. He was 5 for 8 from three-point range and added seven rebounds. Against NIACC, he finished with 18 points, giving him his highest two-game total in scoring since the first two games of the year when he had 21 and 26. Recker is one of three Eagles to average 13 or more points per game this season at 13.6 a night.
