NO.12 KIRKWOOD MEN CLINCH NO.2 SEED

The 12th-ranked Kirkwood men's basketball team topped Iowa Central, 75-63, Wednesday night at Johnson Hall to clinch the No. 2 seed for the regional tournament.
 
Cassius Brooks finished with 24 points, five rebounds, two steals, and two assists for the Eagles. He made several clutch shots down the stretch and played strong defense.
 
Noah King collected 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals, and four 3-pointers. He also made several clutch shots with the game being decided late in the second half.
 
Justin Recker contributed 12 points and seven rebounds. Caylor Hoffer hit a big 3-pointer coming down the stretch to help the Eagles.
 
Kevin Taylor led Iowa Central with 23 points.
 
Kirkwood raised its records to 23-6 overall and 11-5 in the final game of the regular season. The Eagles finished with a perfect 14-0 record at home.
 
Kirkwood will face Southwestern (9-20) in the quarterfinals of the regional tournament this Saturday at 1 p.m. in Estherville.
