NO.14 KCC MEN SPLIT AT JOHN WOOD CLASSIC

Quincy, Ill. - The 14th-ranked Kirkwood men's basketball team split two games at a weekend tournament in Illinois.

The Eagles (4-1) topped John Wood Community College, 98-83, and lost their first game of the season to Lake Land College, 79-74.

Puolrah Gong led a balanced attack against John Wood with 17 points. Justin Recker and Arthur Cox scored 16 points apiece. Cassius Brooks netted 15 points and Noah King added 11.

The Eagles shot their 3-pointers very well against John Wood, nailing 14 of 26. Recker was 4-for-5, while Gong and Ayouba Berthe were both 3-of-4.

Brooks topped Kirkwood with 18 points against Lake Land. King and Recker scored 15 points apiece. Gong netted 11.
