NO.4 EAGLES TRIMMED BY NIACC

MASON CITY - The fourth-ranked Kirkwood men's basketball team was denied by NIACC, 78-73, in an ICCAC game Saturday in Mason City.

NIACC hit a tough 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds left to snap a 73-73 tie and give the Trojans a 76-73 advantage.

Kirkwood has dropped three of its last four games, falling to 14-4 overall and 4-3 in the conference. NIACC raised its records to 7-11 overall and 2-5 in the league.

Justin Recker led Kirkwood with 18 points. Ayouba Berthe collected a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Cassius Brooks added 10 points. Noah King had seven assists.

Myles Tucker poured in 29 points for NIACC with six 3-pointers. Chett Helming also scored 29 with seven rebounds.
