NO.12 EAGLES MAKE REGIONAL FINALS

ESTHERVILLE - The 12th-ranked Kirkwood men's basketball team has won its first two games in the regional tournament and is one victory away from reaching the national tournament.
 
The Eagles (25-6) will face fifth-ranked Iowa Lakes in the regional finals Thursday night at Iowa Lakes in Estherville.
 
Kirkwood topped Southwestern, 70-51, in the regional quarterfinals and staged a massive rally to conquer DMACC, 77-62, in the semifinals.
 
Noah King collected 20 points and nine assists in the victory over Southwestern. Cassius Brooks scored 14 points, Ayouba Berthe 13 and Justin Recker 11. Marcus Glover grabbed eight rebounds.
 
Kirkwood trailed DMACC, 44-27, at halftime Sunday in the semifinals. The Eagles pounded the Bears, 50-18, in the second half for the 15-point victory.
 
Brooks led the Eagles against DMACC with 21 points. Berthe contributed a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. King scored 15 points. Arthur Cox had 11 points and nine rebounds.
